About the role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People and Culture Officer to join this values driven organisation and provide comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle. Working closely with the Executive Manager, People and Culture, you will assist with recruitment, onboarding, contract management, compliance, and policy implementation while contributing to continuous improvement of HR systems and processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level HR professional ready to take the next step in their career within a purpose-driven organisation. Over time, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support workforce development projects, including student placements, and may progress into a P&C Advisor or Business Partner role as part of planned succession. This is a full-time position based in Adelaide CBD, with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week or from other local offices as required. The remuneration package is competitive and includes not-for-profit salary packaging. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating end-to-end recruitment, advertising, and onboarding activities Drafting and managing employment contracts and maintaining HR documentation Supporting implementation and compliance with HR policies and procedures Assisting with audits, reporting, and HRIS data maintenance Providing timely HR advice and support to managers and employees Contributing to workforce planning, staff engagement, and development initiatives To be successful you will have: 1–2 years’ experience in a Human Resources, People & Culture or Recruitment role A relevant qualification in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to support managers at varying levels A values-driven approach aligned with the organisation’s principles of trust, honesty and respect Competence in Microsoft 365 and HR systems A current driver’s licence and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain) Experience in the community services or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of the SCHADS Award and contemporary HR practices.
