The Employer: Coolac Cattle Co. is a family-owned and managed enterprise between Jugiong and Gundagai, NSW. The 4,400-hectare property manages a 2000-cow herd, split evenly between Wagyu and Angus self-replacing breeding programs, both subject to genomics testing. Additionally, a small stud herd is maintained for internal bull breeding. The Senior Station Hand will work alongside the Farm Manager (full-time) and the owner (part-time) to run the breeding and backgrounding program. This diverse role includes stock work such as mustering, marking, weaning, animal health treatments, and AI programs. The successful candidate will also be required to assist with pasture management, with 200-500 hectares undergoing renovation yearly. Previous sowing and spraying experience preferred, but not essential. The successful candidate will also be responsible for livestock feeding, general fencing, and stock water maintenance. Our client is looking for a proactive individual with a strong, reliable work ethic. A team of working dogs, paired with horsemanship, would be considered advantageous to this role. Farming infrastructure includes undercover, newly built cattle yards, with loading ramp and modern John Deere tractors and telehandler equipment.
