About the Department of EducationThe department is responsible for early childhood and school education in Victoria through the provision of a wide range of learning and development supports and services. About the Communications Division The Communications Division of leads, shapes and supports communication of Victorian Government priorities for early childhood education and schools education. The Communications Division is responsible for marketing, campaigns and communication strategy, media relations, speechwriting, internal communications, branding, digital and creative services, and major event management.About the Executive Director, Communications Division The Executive Director, Communications Division is responsible for leading and managing the department's external and internal communications strategy and priorities.As a member of the executive leadership team of People and Executive Services, the role builds respectful and collaborative workplace cultures. The role reports directly to the Deputy Secretary, People and Executive Services, and is a member of committees and project control boards.The role is responsible for a large function dedicated to: Advising and supporting ministers, the Secretary, the department executive, and policy and program areas across the portfolio in areas of strategic and corporate communications. Leading and managing the Secretary's communications and engagement strategy with corporate and schools based staff. Overseeing communication channels and strategies for Victorian government schools, including teachers, and other key sector communication needs. Developing and leading the department's internal and external communications strategy to build and promote the department's reform agenda. Providing expert advice on marketing and communications planning for departmental projects, including developing, coordinating and managing major promotion and marketing campaigns, developing communications plans for government priorities and planning and coordinating market research and evaluation of communication projects. Providing expert advice on digital and corporate communications, developing and overseeing the department's corporate communication strategies and developing, implementing and monitoring the department's corporate visual identify and branding. Providing expert advice on major event management, including planning and delivering major promotional and stakeholder events. * Providing expert advice on public affairs, issues and media matters including the development of media strategies and tactics, responding to media inquiries and preparing media released.
