Research Lead Do work that matters We are a mixed-method and ethnographic research program designed to better understand the financial behaviours and needs of young adult Australians. Originally inspired by the U.S. Financial Diaries , the program works with a panel comprising dozens of participants across several Australian cities and regional centres, over months or years. A small research team collects demographic, financial and observational data. These data sets are synthesised to develop impactful insights and reporting, which are then used by senior industry stakeholders to inform customer strategies, industry policies and staff training. Tracking household finances is the starting point to uncover complex dimensions of Australians’ financial lives, including their views on the economy, use of different financial products and future hopes and aspirations.
