Your position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital We are seeking applications for a passionate and experienced Senior Dietitian (Grade 2) to join our dynamic Allied Health team at Bendigo on a permanent full-time basis. In this role, you will primarily provide clinical nutrition services across inpatient rehabilitation, medical, surgical, oncology, and ICU settings, while also managing a small outpatient caseload. Working Monday to Friday, you will be part of a friendly and supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will apply advanced clinical practice skills to deliver evidence-based nutrition and dietetic interventions that optimise patient outcomes. You will also play a leadership role in mentoring and developing junior staff and students, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence. The Position Provides a senior nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and or outpatients including management of more complex patients. Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate. Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards. Document patients’ medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner. Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups. Develop and review dietary education resources. Participate in other Divisional activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic junior caregivers, and students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager Promotes professional values and ethics in clinical practice. Demonstrates consolidated, current knowledge of research, evidence-based practice in Nutrition and Dietetics and related clinical areas. You will possess a Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA). You will also have proven experience in providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment and contributing to the development of clinical capability within the team. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in planning and implementing comprehensive nutritional assessments, applying evidence-based dietetic practices to support effective patient management, treatment interventions, and discharge planning. We can offer you Salary: $95,432 to $114,129 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% Superannuation Permanent full-time role working 38 hours per week, part-time applications will also be considered.
