Join Shadbolt Group, a leading Australian fabrication and engineering company delivering major Defence, Energy, and Infrastructure projects nationwide. We’re expanding our Burton workshop and looking for motivated Trade Assistants to support our growing workload. About the Role As part of the Shadbolt team, you’ll be the hands-on support behind our trades, warehouse, and site operations. The role is dynamic — one moment you’re assisting with fabrication, the next you’re handling logistics or supporting external sites. Key Responsibilities Workshop & Trade Support Help trades (boilermakers, welders, fitters) with fabrication, preparation, and assembly Use hand and power tools safely (with supervision) Move, cut, grind, clean components and materials Take basic measurements, layout marking Load/unload materials and components for production Warehouse & Logistics Receive, store, and dispatch goods and materials Keep the warehouse neat, organised, compliant Assist in stock control, labelling, inventory checks Operate forklifts / lifting gear (if licensed) Pack and prepare tools, consumables, equipment for project use External Properties & Facilities Support maintenance and general labour on Shadbolt external sites Help with equipment setup, relocation, basic repairs Groundskeeping, cleaning, and site upkeep Health, Safety & Environment Adhere to Shadbolt’s safety systems, policies, procedures Take part in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, safety inspections Report hazards, near misses, incidents promptly Maintain PPE, cleanliness, and safe work areas General Duties Assist trades and supervisors with daily operations Participate in training, upskilling, assessments Perform other duties as required within capability What We’re Looking For Hands-on, reliable “doer” with a strong work ethic Some experience working with tools, in workshop, warehouse, or labouring roles Ability to follow direction, measure, mark out, and perform physically demanding work Forklift / lifting licence is a plus Good safety awareness and willingness to follow procedures Comfortable working across workshop, warehouse, and external sites Why Join Us?
