Director – M&A Origination – Independent Corporate Advisory Firm Our client is an established and respected independent corporate advisory firm, known for executing complex and high-impact mid-market M&A transactions. The firm advises a broad range of private and listed companies, private equity sponsors and family offices across multiple sectors. With a strong deal track record and an execution team in place, the firm is now looking to appoint a commercially driven Director or Executive Director to focus on deal origination. This is a front-line role with clear visibility and autonomy – suited to an individual with strong commercial instincts, a relevant network, and a track record of converting relationships into actionable mandates. Key responsibilities Originate and convert new M&A mandates (sell-side and selective buy-side) Develop and manage relationships with private company founders, listed CEOs/CFOs, family offices and investors. Generate and lead high-quality pitch materials and idea generation Work closely with the senior team to identify strategic market opportunities Oversee early-stage transaction structuring and drive client engagement through to handover to execution teams The ideal candidate will have 10 years’ experience in M&A, corporate finance, business development, or a related strategic role A credible origination network across mid-market private and/or public companies Strong commercial instincts and relationship-building ability Excellent communication and presentation skills A track record of delivering mandates or successfully identifying and converting deal opportunities What’s on offer Salary range of $275k–$350k incl. super bonus, with clear linkage to origination success Bonus is uncapped and directly tied to a percentage of originated transactions Direct access to a highly experienced leadership team and strong in-house execution support Entrepreneurial, collegiate environment with no bureaucracy This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and directly benefit from the value you generate.
