Your Employer Our client, Southern Queensland Landscapes, is an independent, community‑driven, not‑for‑profit natural resource management organisation. With their head office based in Toowoomba, they work across southern Queensland partnering with landholders, First Nations peoples, government, and industry to co‑design and implement projects in sustainable agriculture, soil health, biodiversity, water, and climate resilience. Southern QLD Landscapes supports flexible and hybrid working opportunities, including remote and part time. With a genuine commitment to work life balance, they understand the competing needs of family and other business arrangements. If you are only able to work part time or at certain times of the season, please don’t hesitate to reach out and see if Southern QLD landscapes is right for you. They have offices in Toowoomba, Charleville, and Roma, with remote staff based in co-working spaces in Cunnamulla and Goondiwindi. The Role The Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator (SAF) will strengthen and implement a range of community engagement and communication strategies with farmers, landholders, and community groups to support adoption of climate‑smart, sustainable agricultural practices. This role offers purpose, flexibility, and community impact — and can be shaped by your character and passion. You're not just filling a position – you're bringing personality and purpose to it. Key Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate and deliver extension programs, field days and workshops on sustainable agriculture practices (e.g. rotational grazing, soil health, carbon farming). Engage with landholders to understand needs, tailor on‑farm demonstration trials, and provide decision support. Build strong relationships with industry groups, government agencies, First Nations partners and community stakeholders. Monitor, evaluate and report project outcomes (land condition, adoption metrics, carbon, profitability) and capture learnings. Travel across the region (as required) to support regional implementation and stakeholder engagement. This position is fixed-term and funded under the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust program. Whilst extensions may occur, this role is currently funded until the 30th of June, 2028. About You This role will suit someone who is community-minded, proactive and knowledgeable in agriculture or environmental science. Whether you are seeking full-time or part-time employment, the key criteria include: Strong background in agriculture, environmental science, sustainability, or natural resource management. Effective written and verbal communication skills with experience in community engagement activities. Self‑motivated, well organised, comfortable working independently and travelling regionally. Competent in Microsoft suite for basic data/reporting tasks. Familiarity with climate adaptation, carbon farming, soil health or regenerative agriculture is desirable, but not essential. The Benefits This role offers a unique blend of flexibility, autonomy, and community connection — perfect for those seeking purpose-driven work while balancing personal commitments. Other benefits include: Work from home with minimal in-office requirements. Part-time or full-time options available — tell us what suits your lifestyle. Access to professional development, industry conferences, and professional training. Meaningful, purpose-led work supporting sustainable farming and healthy landscapes.
