About the mine - Gregory Open cut An exciting opportunity now exists at their Gregory open-cut operation for an experienced Mining Engineer. Gregory is one of Queensland's most iconic operations. The Senior Mining Engineer is responsible for ensuring mine planning, designs, schedules, measurement, and reporting of mining activities are conducted in a manner that improves operational and financial effectiveness across all sites. Moreover, this position is responsible for ensuring mine plans are executed and initiatives implemented which will produce the required results in safety and operational performance. Key Responsibilities: Ensure technical services-controlled procedures are current and meet legislative requirements Ensure delivery of all planning and forecasts required Ensure accurate survey end-of-month reports are completed, and sites spatial data is captured and maintained Ensure appropriate associations are maintained between short-term, medium term and life of mine plans Ensure sound and consistent mine planning principles are applied in all Sojitz mine plans and schedules Identify and realise process improvement opportunities. Highlight and address project work which is required to accommodate mine planning processes Ensure appropriate reconciliation for waste, mine designs, coal, and products are completed across all Sojitz sites and are completed in a consistent way Effectively communicate new plans and changes to all relevant parties including management, engineers, and operations and ensure medium-term plans are developed and integrated into all projects and mine sites planning Lead, mentor and cooperate with teams and others to obtain an optimal solution for projects and operations Undertake site inspections and visits on a regular basis Influence, lead, manage and mentor teams to achieve the execution of the company’s objectives About you The successful candidate will have the following: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining/Civil Engineering 5 years’ experience in a Mining Engineering environment Mine Planning, Reporting and Scheduling experience Proficient in MS Office, Vulcan, Gantt Scheduler, 3D Dig and SPRY and/or relevant Mine Planning & Design Software Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence with stakeholders at all levels Highly developed and demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution and time management skills What Sojitz can offer you: Competitive salary package inclusive of housing allowance A family friendly culture from the CEO down Salary Packaging options available – Remote Area Benefits Company supplied transport to and from site Please click the link below to apply.
