The Position: Environmental Services Assistant The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean Ward/Unit Environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations under the direction and supervision of the Housekeeping Manager. The Position Carries out all duties under the direction and supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, (After Hours Clinical Nurse Manager/Leading Hand). Maintains a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment using only authorised cleaning products and adhering to the Infection Control Ward/Unit cleaning schedule. Maintains the nonmedical consumable and cleaning imprest supplies. Reports all Ward/Unit maintenance issues and risks and hazards to the Housekeeping Manager or Ward Clerk. Reports all periodic cleaning requirements i.e. (carpets, windows and screens) to the Housekeeping Manager. Maintains effective communication lines and teamwork/collaboration within area of responsibility and the Hospital generally. Participates in Housekeeping Services Meetings and Housekeeping Services team initiatives and meetings as required by the Housekeeping Manager. Abides by and implements workplace safety and security processes in the course of undertaking the role. High level of personal presentation and adhering to wearing uniform provided as per uniform policy.
