We’re seeking an experienced Leading Hand Labourer to join a high-rise residential construction project in Newcastle. This role offers a clear pathway into a Junior Foreman position for the right candidate who shows initiative, leadership, and site management capability. About the role: You’ll work closely with the Site 2IC, splitting your time between hands-on site labouring work (around 50%) and assisting with planning and coordination (around 50%). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up from a senior labouring or trade background into a site management role. Key Responsibilities: Carry out general and skilled labouring duties as required on site Work directly with the 2IC to assist in daily and future build planning Help coordinate and organise trades, deliveries, and site logistics Maintain site safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards Track progress against build schedules and report back to site management Provide hands-on leadership to site labourers and assist with daily task allocation Requirements: Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Skilled Labourer, or similar on large-scale residential or high-rise projects Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to read plans and understand build programs Current White Card (and relevant tickets highly regarded) Reliable, proactive, and motivated to grow into a Junior Foreman role If you’re an experienced Leading Hand or senior labourer ready to take the next step toward site supervision, we’d love to hear from you.
