About Us Beretta Café and Pizza Bar is open as a café and a pizzeria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is famous for the wide variety of tasty and freshly baked traditional and gourmet pizzas. We also specialize in authentic Italian pasta such as Penne A’matriciana, Linguini Marinara, Ravioli Di Ricotta, and Lasagne. Besides that, we offer a range of salads, seafood, st, and chicken dishes and desserts. About the Role We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef to contribute to the success of our kitchen operations. The position will work closely with other Chefs / Cooks, and the duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Menu planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget in liaison with the Manager. Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and standardized recipes. Inspect food items upon arrival to verify quality and freshness, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the Manager. Oversee food preparation, ensuring freshness, quality, and adherence to food safety guidelines. Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and other Kitchen staff. Ensure consistent food quality and presentation in line with company standards. Rotating stock, assisting with ordering and maintaining food stock, food portion control, and waste management. Create dishes tailored to specific dietary needs, such as allergies, intolerances, and individual preferences. Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative kitchen culture. Adherence and awareness of Australian food & safety health standards & codes of practice. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards. Requirements: Trade qualifications (i.e., Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery). Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume commercial kitchen setting. Experience in Italian Cuisine Must be able to make pizza, roll pizza dough by hand Must be able to make a gourmet sandwich Experience in preparing breakfast in a busy environment Possess current Food Safety Certificates and other relevant certifications. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and other team members.
