About the role The Receptionist plays a key role in providing high-quality front-of-house service at The Salvation Army’s Philip Street Community and Families Precinct. This position is responsible for welcoming and assisting all visitors, monitoring building access, and offering appropriate support or referrals — particularly for individuals in distress. How you will make an impact Deliver excellent customer service as the first point of contact for visitors and tenants, referring inquiries to internal teams or external services as appropriate. Manage front desk operations and general administrative tasks, including answering phones, handling correspondence and emails, managing mail, photocopying, filing, and maintaining shared email accounts. Provide finance administration support to the Line Manager, including preparing cash payment summaries, generating and processing invoices, banking, donation receipting, account reconciliation, and payment processing. Support community members through The Salvation Army Connect Office and ensure the Foodbank is regularly stocked and well-maintained. Oversee day-to-day building functions, such as managing deliveries, security access, lunchroom setup, and maintaining supplies in communal areas including bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Assist in emergency response and evacuation procedures in line with TSA guidelines and training. Coordinate the hire and booking of rooms and facilities, ensuring the calendar is up-to-date and that all required documentation (e.g., insurance and hire agreements) is completed and recorded properly. What you will bring Previous experience in a receptionist or similar administrative coordination role. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and OneDrive. Certificate III in Business Administration (highly regarded). A current Working with Children Check – QLD Blue Card (mandatory). Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
