Introduction As a member of the Promontory Australia team at IBM you will contribute to the firm's efforts in working with clients on challenging strategic, risk management, and regulatory compliance issues. Our team offers services across Prudential, Conduct and AML Regulation: Risk Management – advisory and assurance services across risk management, governance, culture, accountability and compliance. Remediation Services – assurance to regulators and firms over customer-focused remediation programs. Regulatory Framework – advising regulators and industry on building regulatory frameworks. Regulatory Liaison – helping clients navigate relationships with regulators. RegTech – working with IBM teams and leveraging technology assets to advise on AI-based solutions and risk governance. We have a diverse client base in Australia, including some of the country’s largest financial institutions and public sector clients. Your Role And Responsibilities As a Principal, you will manage risk, regulatory and compliance engagements daily, analyze complex problems, develop recommendations, and contribute to reports and other deliverables. A strong consulting background with experience in non-financial risk management (including operational risk and resilience) and/or superannuation is preferable. You will also draw upon your insights and networks to identify business opportunities for IBM Promontory. Manage projects and act as the client point of contact, ensuring engagements stay on budget and meet profit and realization targets. Undertake analysis and prepare project deliverables, including reports and presentations. Interact with executive management and regulatory authorities, typically with a Managing Director present. Demonstrate strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills; the ability to convey clear, concise analyses and recommendations. Handle complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks. Work closely with and communicate effectively with clients and across all levels of the organization. Commitment to integrity and ethics. The candidate will also build and retain relationships across the industry and identify opportunities for further IBM Promontory work. Education and Expertise Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or Law; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded. At least 6 years of experience in Financial services, Consulting, Regulator, Compliance, Risk management, Governance, or legal. Proven ability to work in fast-paced, unstructured environments and develop innovative client solutions. Analytics and data: experience with data governance and large/unstructured datasets to derive insights. AI fundamentals, AI governance, model development and application. Excel at an expert level (including VBA/Macro) and experience handling large datasets in SQL. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Law or Business Administration; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded. Specialization in data analytics, risk management, assurance, and regulatory compliance. Experience developing, testing and validating end-to-end modeling, with tools such as Alteryx, R and Python.
