The Role Working with an exceptional design manager and for a business lead by engineers, your role will be to work in the R&D / Product development team to develop and improve product offerings in the commercial and domestic appliances market. You will work with the marketing team to develop product specs that meet market needs, design products and work on prototypes and conduct tests to ensure functionality. You will work on aesthetics and overall functionality and commercial viability. You will be given the freedom to experiment, present ideas, provide input to design meetings and work with test labs to ensure products meet compliance and functional issues. You will be responsible for supplier relationship management and driving outcomes in acceptable timelines. Remuneration Salary will be discussed with relevant candidates and is attractive to attract the best candidate Selection Criteria To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria: Tertiary Qualifications - Mechanical Excellent, confident and open verbal and written communication skills (Mandarin speaking an advantage) 4 - 5 years employment experience in product development - that is, understanding of electrical systems, specification detailing and testing of electrical/software and mechanical components, design of sheet metal, moulding/casting, machining components/products. Experience in managing quality requirement and working with contract manufacturers Experience in product testing, knowledge of compliance standards for local and international markets Decision making style that is fact based, considered and commercial Excellent analytical and methodical problem-solving skills Able to manage multiple projects (up to 8), prioritise and plan tasks and manage a busy schedule Project Management skills are advantageous Innovative thinker * Positive "do what I need to do to provide solution" attitude and you pushg for every outcome to happen in a timely manner.
