The Position Moreton Bay College is seeking experienced Touch and Basketball Coaches for a Term 1 2026 start for the upcoming QGSSSA season. The successful candidates should demonstrate a high level of expertise, enthusiasm for the sport and the ability to work with varying levels of ability within the sport. Sport is an integral component of the College’s Co-Curricular programme and complements the College’s holistic commitment to the physical and emotional development of students. The Sports Coach will be responsible to the Director of Sport for the day to day running of the coaching programs and ultimately to the Principal of Moreton Bay College. All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church day school for girls from Early Years-12. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct weekly training sessions as per the coaching program. Implement training and coaching strategies as set out by the Head Coach. Assist students with skills and technique development. Create and maintain a supportive and motivating environment. Regularly providing constructive informal feedback to students on their progress. Monitoring the behaviour and attitude of all students. Keeping a record of attendance and making contact with the Coordinator if there are concerns. Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices. SKILLS AND ABILITY The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: Demonstrated ability to provide positive and clear instructions. Ability to use initiative. Ability to apply developed communication skills to develop rapport and relationships with students, staff and parents. Commitment to their work and to the achievement of excellence. Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team. Willingness to work collaboratively and effectively with other members of the school community. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Relevant coaching experience - minimum of Level 1 coaching experience. Experience playing the Sport. Current First aid certificate including CPR. Working with Children Suitability Card is essential.
