Full time fixed term for 12 months at Camperdown Research Fellow role with the School of Public Health-Global Health Focus Base Salary $ 127,436 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health has an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow position to join Alexandra Martiniuk’s research team focusing on global child health (health systems -cancer and/or mental health) in Australia and the Asia Pacific region, with potential opportunity to join other broader global health projects. The role presents an opportunity to be part of an international collaborations with leading partners in our research including the WHO Collaborating Centre for Childhood Cancer, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Nepal Ministry of Health, the Indian Pediatric Hematology Oncology Group and Vietnamese partners in child cancer research. Your key responsibilities will be to: conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research funding assist in project management of the research including protocol development, field implementation, stakeholder liaison, budget/reporting complete Data management for the project including data collection, cleaning, coding, analysis and interpretation of primary/secondary datasets using statistical software packages collaborate and build a public health network and collaborations including local and international organisations contribute to applications for competitive research grants or funding to deliver research impact supervise Undergraduate/Master/PhD students maintain a research profile, including publication of book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and/or seminar papers About you hold a completed Doctor of Philosophy in a relevant field of research (epidemiology, data science, medicine) proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders a developing research profile in discipline or area of expertise proven experience supervising and mentoring others highly proficient in use of Stata, R, SPSS, jamovi, SQL (intro), REDCap strong project management skills including protocol development, field implementation, stakeholder liaison, budget/reporting proven record of collaboration with local and global health organisations Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
