THE ROLE We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager who’s as passionate about the fitness industry as they are about keeping things running seamlessly. If you’re someone who loves being on the tools, takes pride in fixing what’s broken before anyone notices, and is excited to help us Inspire Change by opening up the World’s Best Gyms, we want to hear from you. As an in-house Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a critical role in protecting our member experience and ensuring every facility reflects the high standard One Playground is known for. Your responsibilities encompass the following areas of success: Preventative Maintenance Own and execute the regular maintenance schedule across all sites, from gym floors to group training studios. Stay one step ahead by identifying and fixing wear and tear before it becomes a member complaint. Ensure everything’s running smoothly, including lighting, equipment, recovery amenities, air conditioning and general site upkeep. Reactive Repairs Tackle internal maintenance requests across clubs with speed and pride. No job is too small, whether it’s tightening a loose bolt or replacing faulty lighting, you jump on it fast. Use your technical know-how to troubleshoot and repair gym equipment, plumbing, fixtures and fittings. New Site Support Assist in setting up equipment and facilities as we open new locations in 2026 Work with our Ops, Projects and Club teams to ensure every site is launch-ready and on-brand. Help ensure the facilities look and feel world-class from day one. Tool & Asset Management Maintain tools, stock and maintenance logs, everything in its place, ready to go. Keep accurate records of work done, warranties, and upcoming service needs. Recommend upgrades or replacements before things become a problem. Maintenance Co-Ordination Engage and manage sub contractors Manage workflow systems from start to finish Support in sourcing and purchasing fixtures and fittings ABOUT YOU To excel and find fulfilment in this role: You’re passionate about the health and fitness industry. You’re a problem solver who thrives on action and takes ownership of your work. You’ve got solid trade, handyman, or technical repair experience. You’ve got a high standard of presentation, communication and professionalism. You’re excited by the opportunity to grow with a business. You love being part of a team that’s energetic, fun, and driven by purpose. A valid driver’s licence, you’ll be on the move between locations. REQUIRED SKILLS Any trade qualifications (e.g., Cert III/IV in Building, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing) or relevant certifications. You have high standards of execution and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Comfortable using digital systems or apps to log jobs and manage tasks.
