Fantastic position leading a small team of 6 Telephone based account managers who are working in the industry they love, We/your account managers supply a vast product range of stock to basically a captive clientele, As we have supplied these clients with stock since the 1970’s We have solid agreements in place. Your team - Their focus is basically making sure their business clients place their weekly orders for more stock on time; they ensure that deliveries are on time and orders are accurate and any free replacements are included and packed in with the next weekly order and they provide a little extra TLC and customer service thrown in when the need calls for it. Level of difficulty associated with keeping a client - At this point your staff don’t have to do too much to keep their clients happy, the trust and reliability factors are firmly in place as we have supplied and taken good care of them for decades and we expect to do so for decades to come. What might need some work - Suggestive upselling of future orders – this might need a little work. Can you train your staff and impart your knowledge? The advantage you have with upselling in our company is that - An order does not just benefit our company alone, it benefits our clients by increasing our client’s revenue - Your teams Straight forward suggestive selling skills might need a little work here, so if you have experience in this area this will be a benefit - The regular walk-in customers of the businesses we supply enters their store to purchase product “A”; they knew they wanted product “A” before they walked in and they already knew they were going part with E.G. $20.00 then walk out with product “A”, if we are not also supplying our clients with products B, C, D, E, F& G that compliment product “A” then we are doing our clients a disservice, as will be missing out on boosting their purchases from $20.00 to $60.00, $100, $150, $200. Key Responsibilities: Lead, motivate, and mentor 6 client managers. Implement sales procedures and strategies to achieve company objectives, including both entity and category targets. Generate budgets with forecasting prior to each new financial year. Set clear sales targets and performance expectations for individual team members. Monitor sales performance against forecasts and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular coaching and feedback to enhance sales skills and productivity. Conduct regular sales meetings to review progress, address challenges, and share best practices. Ensure adherence to company procedures and stakeholder expectations. Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales personnel. Manage sales team performance and conduct performance reviews. Make necessary decisions regarding hiring and termination of sales staff. Continuously improve sales team performance through effective leadership and personal sales contributions. Sales Reporting: Generate accurate and timely sales reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern. Present sales reports to management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions. Marketing: Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities. Provide input on marketing materials and messaging to ensure alignment with sales strategies. Develop and manage a monthly promotional plan. Key Attributes: Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a successful Team Leader or Sales Manager. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team. Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficiency in using CRM/ERP software and other sales tools.
