Your new role: As a Senior Social Worker within the Spinal Injuries Unit, you will provide expert clinical social work services to patients with spinal cord injuries. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to high-quality patient care, service development, and clinical education. Your leadership will guide less experienced clinicians and students, and your expertise will shape evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives. Deliver high-quality, evidence-based social work assessments, interventions, and evaluations. Act as a clinical reference for the social work team and provide advanced clinical advice. Collaborate in developing and implementing clinical policies and protocols. Advocate for patients and families using knowledge of disability, rehabilitation, and funding pathways. About you: We're looking for a skilled and compassionate social worker who thrives in a complex clinical environment and values teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement. Extensive experience delivering social work services in rehabilitation or disability settings. Strong clinical judgement and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and training to junior staff and students. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. About us: The Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS) is a state-wide specialty service comprising in-patient, outpatient, in-reach, transition and outreach services for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI). QSCIS services have a strong person-centred and interdisciplinary focus and aim to provide equitable access to specialist care and rehabilitation services for people with SCI throughout Queensland. QSCIS has extensive relationships with HHSs across Queensland, and works extensively with disability funding schemes such as the NDIS, NIISQ, Workcover and My Aged Care.
