About the role A new opportunity has become available for a Quality Manager to work as part of our Cochlear Brisbane Operations Quality division based in Newstead. Reporting to the Director Global Design & Quality Operations Assurance, you will lead the Cochlear Brisbane Operations (CBO) Quality team, ensuring our products meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and are ready for release to customers. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting problem-solving processes, and driving continuous improvement across quality operations. Key Responsibilities Provide site operational quality leadership and partner with global teams to ensure regulatory compliance and certification. Lead product acceptance and release processes, including Non-Conformance Report (NCR) resolution and stakeholder support. Drive continuous improvement of quality processes aligned with ISO13485, FDA CFR820,MDR, MDSAP, and GMP regulations. Attract, develop, and retain top talent to meet current and future business objectives. Actively contribute to the implementation and improvement of quality procedures while supporting the day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities. Technical Skills & Experience Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Documentation Practices Proven experience in regulated manufacturing environments Skilled in risk-based decision making, problem-solving, and issue escalation Ability to engage and influence stakeholders using data and evidence Experience with data monitoring, statistical process control (preferred) Confident hosting third-party audits (e.g. FDA, TGA, TUV) Leadership Hands-on leadership: both individual contributor and people manager Strong communicator with empathy and influence Action-oriented with structured execution and team progress focus Organised, self-aware, and open to seeking support Committed to team development and fostering a positive culture About you You bring high energy and engagement to your work, with a proactive approach to learning and quickly understanding your role.
