Your role You'll be a part of our Projects & Development team in Perth. Our team advises on the leading mining, oil & gas and energy transactions in Australia, including for Rio Tinto, CITIC, ExxonMobil and Woodside. We routinely advise on high profile national and cross-border transactions and projects involving assets across Australia, Asia and Papua New Guinea. As part of our team you will play an important role delivering client work on market-leading projects and transactions and working with us to identify and win new work opportunities. Your role will typically include advising on: acquisitions and divestments in the mining and oil & gas sectors; project development and expansions in the mining, oil & gas and energy sectors, including renewables transactions; regulatory matters involving mining and oil & gas operations and the generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity and gas; joint ventures, JOAs, shareholders agreements and partnership structures; Minerals and gas sales and transportation agreements, including LNG sales agreements and trading; and power purchase agreements. This is a (permanent, full-time) opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. About you You will have: Demonstrated experience in mining, oil & gas, or renewables, ideally at a top tier firm, international firm or boutique firm. We are open to candidates with a combination of private practice and in-house experience, and to lawyers returning to Australia after working as a lawyer overseas. An ability to work independently and effectively manage smaller matters and elements of larger matters. A strong team ethic - this aspect of our culture is of key importance to us. An interest in building an understanding of clients and developing effective working relationships with clients.
