Job Description Position Title: EL1 Senior Business Analyst Employment Type: Labour hire (approx. 6 months with potential to extend) Location: Canberra or Brisbane Hourly Pay Rate: $78.63 - $89.44 per hour plus 12% superannuation Security Clearance/Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance ABOUT THE ROLE Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (EL1) to support the research, design, and implementation of an online Program and Project Management and Reporting Tool (PPMRT). You will be responsible for reviewing current project management processes, engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements, and delivering key artefacts to guide system design, change management, and implementation. This position will suit a proactive and strategic thinker with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement capabilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review existing project management frameworks, processes, and reporting mechanisms Engage with business owners, project managers, and senior stakeholders to capture and validate functional and non-functional requirements Document current and future state workflows to support design and change planning Develop comprehensive business and system requirements documentation Contribute to the development of a Project Management Plan (PMP) Facilitate effective communication between business and technical teams Participate in and occasionally lead workshops, stakeholder meetings, and discovery sessions Evaluate internal systems and assess feasibility of integrating reporting needs into the PPMRT Produce reports and artefacts such as discovery reports, comparative reviews, and recommendation reports SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential Criteria: Demonstrated experience conducting advanced business modelling, analysis, and process improvement in large, complex organisations Proven ability to manage and execute business process improvement initiatives and develop workflow models Experience undertaking business situation analysis to identify challenges and opportunities in ambiguous environments Strong consultancy skills with the ability to build trust and deliver practical recommendations to stakeholders Experience conducting feasibility assessments and preparing business cases, including cost/benefit and risk analysis Demonstrated ability to plan, define, and manage business requirements for large-scale projects Desirable: Experience providing guidance on tools, methodologies, and frameworks for business process improvement Strong stakeholder relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups ELIGIBILITY Australian Citizenship is required for this role Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance Apply now or contact Jake Adam on 6260 8888 for a confidential discussion.
