About the role: The Scholarly Services Librarian provides expert, discipline-aligned library services that enhance learning and research outcomes across the university. This role focuses on delivering impactful, student-centred and research-supportive services, while maintaining a strong understanding of scholarly communication and evolving practices in digital literacy. Working collaboratively within a values-driven team, the Scholarly Services Librarian supports both the academic and professional community, with a particular focus on the STEMM disciplines and the integration of emerging technologies like generative AI. As a Scholarly Services Librarian, you will: Design, deliver, and evaluate in-person, digital, hybrid, and self-paced learning experiences to build capacity across undergraduate, postgraduate, and graduate research students, as well as teaching, research and professional staff members. Collaborate with teaching staff and learning designers to assess digital literacy needs and provide tailored support, including guidance on open education resources and the use of artificial intelligence. Support researchers through expert advice and service provision in the areas of systematic searching, publishing strategies (including open access), research metrics and research impact reporting, research data management, and research outputs stewardship. Develop, maintain and apply deep knowledge of resources and scholarly needs in STEMM disciplines. Build strong, sustainable relationships across the university by problem-solving, setting clear expectations, and contributing to a positive, values-driven team culture. To be successful, you’ll have: A Degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in library and information science conferring eligibility for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training. Relevant qualifications and/or experience in specified disciplines or industries, with advanced knowledge of digital literacy programs, pedagogies, and experience designing and delivering face-to-face and online library workshops and modules.
