Join the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and play a pivotal role in delivering strategic funding initiatives that support climate action, clean energy, water management, and environmental protection. As a Senior Project Officer – Strategic Investment & Business Cases , you’ll lead the development of business cases and funding proposals that align with government priorities and deliver real outcomes for communities and the environment. You’ll work closely with senior executives, Ministers’ offices, and delivery teams to shape the department’s investment pipeline and budget strategy. Key Responsibilities Leading the development of strategic investment proposals, business cases, and budget submissions. Providing expert advice and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align investment initiatives with departmental and government priorities. Supporting capability building across the department in business case development and investment planning. About You The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a Government’s budget process, investment planning, or portfolio management, complemented by excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. They will demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex projects and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure. A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field is essential to support the strategic and analytical demands of the role.
