About the Role: The Policy and Communications Officer plays a key role in shaping and maintaining our Enterprise and Digital policy framework . This position is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures aligned with VU’s strategic priorities. This role provides critical analysis and expert input into policy initiatives, while also managing a range of coordination activities to ensure consistency and compliance across the Portfolio. For a copy of the position description, please click here: Policy and Communications Officer What you’ll be doing Policy Development & Review Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of Enterprise and Digital policies and procedures. Provide strategic advice to senior leaders during policy and procedure review cycles. Identify gaps and recommend updates or consolidation of existing policies. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts. Conduct stakeholder consultations, document feedback, and outline actions taken. Project & Implementation Planning Develop project plans to operationalise new or revised policies. Manage updates requiring minor amendments and present for endorsement. Research & Analysis Conduct benchmarking, data analysis, and environmental scanning to support policy and regulatory advice. Governance & Communications Support Support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office in reviewing governance and committee reports. Refresh and maintain SharePoint sites related to the Portfolio. Compliance & OH&S Ensure all content and activities meet compliance obligations. Adhere to OH&S policies and procedures. What you’ll bring Strong understanding of policy development and regulatory frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Proven ability to build effective relationships and negotiate solutions with diverse stakeholders. Analytical mindset with experience in environmental scanning and data-driven decision-making. You’ll be highly organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
