Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive strategic asset maintenance and compliance across a high-volume retail portfolio. Reporting directly to the Account Manager, you will work closely with BGIS teams to optimise operational performance, improve service delivery, and ensure a culture of safety and financial accuracy. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader, highly organised, and thrives in fast-paced, multi-site environments. Strong customer service skills and experience managing medium to large teams are essential. Key Responsibilities Deliver reactive maintenance management and compliance across retail sites Support and mentor the team, fostering a safety-first culture Guide delivery of minor capital works in line with contract and procurement guidelines Analyse maintenance data to improve efficiency, service levels, and record accuracy Collaborate with Finance to ensure timely, accurate reporting and budget adherence Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client service delivery Education, Experience & Skills Essential: Minimum 7 years’ experience in integrated facilities management (all levels encouraged to apply) Experience managing medium to large teams and multi-site portfolios Strong understanding of SLAs, process management, and finance in FM contexts Tertiary qualification in Property, Commerce, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or similar Excellent customer service, leadership, and communication skills Desirable: Experience managing financial accruals and forecasting Advanced CMMS and data analytics proficiency Additional certifications in Facilities Management or Project Management Workplace Flexibility This role is This role is hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH, based in Sydney CBD – World Square , close to public transport.
