The Role The role for hire is a Child Care Worker/ Educator based in Browns Plains, QLD. It is a full-time role with an annual salary between $75,000 $85,000, depending on experience, plus superannuation. The Responsibilities Supervising children closely and helping keep play areas safe and well managed Helping set up learning spaces with materials and activities based on the centre's program Assisting with planning and running activities that reflect children's interests and developmental stages Engaging children through stories, play, and conversations to support their growth Supporting children to build social skills and manage their emotions in positive ways Helping children move safely and smoothly between activities and daily routines Encouraging independence by supporting children with hygiene and self-care tasks Encouraging children to participate in group activities to enhance social interaction Provide individual support to meet each child's emotional, developmental, and inclusion needs Assisting children with meals and ensuring they are following proper mealtime etiquette Managing conflict resolution between children in a calm and constructive manner Collaborating with other staff members to create a nurturing and educational environment Maintaining a clean and tidy environment for children to explore and play Monitoring children's progress and providing feedback to parents or guardians Building nurturing relationships with children and families Keeping accurate documentation and daily records The Requirements Minimum AQF Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education (approved by ACECQA). Candidates who have completed or are nearing completion of the relevant Diploma-level qualification are preferred. Minimum 12 months of experience in early childhood education or childcare Minimum 12 months of experience supervising children during daily routines and recreational activities Minimum 12 months of experience working with children of different age groups and developmental needs Current Working with Children Check as required under legislation (Blue Card) Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis Training, Emergency Asthma Management Training Certificates Immunisation records (or willingness to provide them, if required) National Police Check (or equivalent background check) Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and attending additional training, as necessary.
