Overview: As an Architectural Graduate, your role involves contributing to the success of projects spanning various scales and sectors. You'll play a pivotal part in all stages of the project lifecycle. Competencies to be developed in the first 5 years post-graduation: Project Support and Growth: Collaborate with a dynamic team to assist in project initiation, exploration, and design development. Your open mindset and creative thinking will contribute to innovative solutions that align with project goals. Design Propositions: Contribute your fresh perspectives to the generation and refinement of design propositions. Your role is crucial in breathing life into concepts and translating them into tangible plans. Technical Competence: Embrace diverse skills, learn from feedback, and document progress in your competency matrix. Remember, growth is ongoing, so stay curious and use your skills to empower both yourself and your teams. Software Proficiency and Learning: Be open to learning new software relevant to the tasks. Essential proficiency with BIM and CAD software will empower you to create accurate project representations. Additionally, a willingness to learn and adapt to tools like Rhino/Grasshopper, or similar parametric software, is valued. Collaborative Mindset: Work closely with experienced architects and the leadership team to create a collaborative synergy that enhances project outcomes. Effective communication and teamwork will be key to integrating your contributions seamlessly. Continuous Growth: This role offers a platform for continuous learning and professional growth. Engage with various project types, absorb insights from seasoned professionals, and develop your skills in problem-solving and design innovation. Engaging in projects is a strategic way to enhance technical skills while contributing to teams. Actively seek learning opportunities, collaborate with colleagues, and set clear goals using competency mapping. Develop competencies in Project Management: Learn to oversee and manage small architectural projects from start to finish. Understand how to stick to timelines, budgets, and maintain quality. Collaboration and Communication: Team Collaboration: Able to work well with colleagues, consultants, and contractors to achieve project goals. Clear Communication: Effective in expressing ideas clearly through both verbal and written means. Design Creativity and Innovation: Create architectural concepts that meet client requirements, project goals, and building codes. Produce architectural drawings, models, and specifications using CAD software and relevant tools. Work with engineers, contractors, and other experts to incorporate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into architectural designs.
