About the opportunity Based in Truganina and reporting to the State Logistics Manager, the Inventory Manager will ensure strong governance and consistent best practices across the logistics network in relation to stock control. Responsible for the flow of goods and use of automation to maximise productivity, ensure safe manual handling, and guarantee that customers are supplied accurately and in full. As a people leader, they will be responsible for ensuring the team meet the operational and strategic needs of the business, while providing a safe working environment for all team members. The Inventory Manager will work closely with automation partners, including Knapp and Dematic, to maximize the value from those systems. Additionally, the role will partner with the Supply Chain and operational leadership teams to deliver excellence and continuous improvement in safety, service, and cost optimisation. Key responsibilities Optimise the layout and ranging rules in all Distribution Centres (DCs) to maximize service, productivity, and safety. Ensure a strong network across the country of Systems/Inventory leads for shared learnings and succession plans. Implement and oversee strong governance processes for stock control. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including CSO and Dangerous Goods handling. Develop, implement, manage, and report on a suite of systems and inventory KPIs, setting clear direction and goals across the team. Support the logistics team with streamlining inbound processes to expedite availability. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Merchandise teams to improve the flow of goods through the business. Provide insight, advice, and support to Distribution Centres on strategies and initiatives to maximise operational efficiency. Ensure stock adjustment costs and service performance align with budget and forecasts. Conduct regular performance and continuous improvement reviews with key automation partners. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following key skills and experience. Experience operating in a dedicated inventory management role with strong people leadership skills. Demonstrated experience leading sizable teams to deliver business improvement and establishing process governance controls. Advanced level working knowledge of SAP software and Microsoft Office suite. Proven excellence in commercial, process improvement and analytical acumen. Strong understanding of the logistics and transport industry and operations. Experience managing a diverse and remote group of stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Lean Principles, continuous improvement, and performance excellence. Experience with S&OP principles and supplier conformance. Experience in developing, managing, and analysing financial reports and budgets. Proficient in managing and interpreting large data sets. Demonstrated development, planning, and execution skills.
