The opportunity Due to growth, we have a unique senior opportunity within our Melbourne Corporate and Commercial team. The practices are dynamic, covering a broad range of areas and industries, with clients across the private, public and government sector. Their team is made up of bright and ambitious lawyers across a range of levels from Special Counsel to Graduates. Working with this team you will be involved in a broad range of complex commercial matters. You'll be busy with strategic transactions including share and business sales and acquisitions, acting as an extension of the firm's clients' legal teams including on commercial contracting matters, providing commercially driven and strategic advice on risk, assisting on small, medium and large procurement activities and tenders, and drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts. These contracts include confidentiality arrangements, tenders and procurement documents, transport and logistics contracts, goods and services agreements, subcontractor arrangements, heads of agreement, sponsorships, consultancy agreements, terms & conditions/credit applications, non-disclosure agreements, shareholders’ deeds, joint venture arrangements, partnerships, manufacturing and distribution arrangements. The team also specialises in the Australian Consumer Law and Modern Slavery, so you will be involved in consumer complaints, unfair terms reviews, advising on risks, rights and obligations of clients who are buyers and sellers of goods and services, as well as on modern slavery compliance matters including the preparation of modern slavery statements and modern slavery risk assessments.
