About your role As a Tradesperson - Carpenter, you'll play an important part in maintaining and improving hospital facilities across Metro South Health. Your key responsibilities will include: Performing planned and reactive maintenance and repair work on building structures and fittings Installing, repairing, and maintaining a range of carpentry and joinery assets Managing and prioritising work orders and materials to ensure timely completion Liaising with staff, supervisors, and contractors to minimise disruption to hospital operations Contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement Participating in an on-call roster and travelling across sites as required About you You are a qualified and proactive carpenter who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and reliable service. You will have: A Queensland-recognised trade qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Cabinet Making, or Shopfitting, or a current General Construction Induction (White Card) Demonstrated experience in building maintenance and carpentry across large or complex facilities Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively Sound understanding of safety procedures, standards, and relevant legislation Current Class C driver's licence (Highly regarded) Fire Door and Shutter installation certification What we can offer you: We are renowned for teaching and research excellence with strong relations with Queensland's leading tertiary institutions.
