Gladstone, Curtis Island Join a Tier 1 Company Full Time position UGL, a member of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an experienced Shutdown Superintendent to lead the planning and execution of major shutdown events for APLNG’s Train 1 (2027) and Train 2 (2028). This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of shutdown scopes, while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships. Key Responsibilities Planning & Pre-Shutdown: Lead shutdown planning and execution readiness activities. Develop UGL’s Shutdown Execution Plan and cost estimates. Manage subcontractor engagement and performance. Coordinate support disciplines (Scaffolding, Insulation, Cranes, Painting). Drive recruitment and onboarding strategies. Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards. Execution: Oversee field supervision and resolve schedule conflicts. Champion safety culture and quality assurance. Ensure accurate reporting of progress and issues. Post-Shutdown: Manage demobilisation and site rehabilitation. Participate in lessons learned and performance reviews. About You Qualifications & Experience: Trade background or engineering degree. Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, including 5 years in leadership roles. Proven experience in turnaround/shutdown management. Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset. Sound knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Experience working in multi-cultural teams is highly regarded.
