About the role This role reports to the Victorian Chamber’s Media Manager to assist with the Victorian Chamber’s media activities and sits within the Chief of Staff’s Corporate Affairs Department. You’ll work closely with Policy & Advocacy, Marketing & Communications, Events and Membership teams to amplify our voice through media, social media, and other channels. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, strengthen your media contacts and contribute to the public conversation on issues facing Victorian businesses. Some out-of-hours and on-call weekend work (every second weekend) is required. About you We’re seeking a passionate and driven Media Adviser to join our dynamic Corporate Affairs team. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be inspired to advocate for Victorian businesses and bring strong media relationships and communication skills. In addition, you will: Support the Media Manager to deliver our Media Strategy and amplify our voice across media and communications channels Liaise with journalists on proactive pitches and respond efficiently to incoming media requests Prepare and issue media releases, briefings and collateral for internal and external audiences Provide daily media scans and coverage reports and collaborate across teams to identify opportunities Demonstrate superior time management, meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities Build and maintain excellent media contacts and relationships Show strong written communication and editing skills and the ability to confidently brief senior management Bring at least two years’ experience in media advisory and/or journalism Display an interest or understanding of issues facing Victorian businesses How to apply If this sounds like you, please apply online under the Careers section of our website, www.victorianchamber.com.au/careers .
