About the opportunity Flinders University is seeking to appoint the next Vice-President and Executive Dean, College of Science and Engineering. This is a significant academic leadership appointment that will shape the future direction of one of the University’s largest and most dynamic Colleges. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and serving as a member of the Senior Executive Team, the Vice-President and Executive Dean will provide strategic and academic leadership across education, research and engagement. The role will enhance the College’s national and international profile, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster strong partnerships with industry, government and the wider community. The College spans Computing and IT, Engineering, Natural, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and plays a central role in Flinders’ innovation ecosystem through initiatives such as the Tonsley Innovation District and Factory of the Future, a world-class advanced manufacturing facility unique in Australia. Supported by experienced academic and professional teams, the Vice-President and Executive Dean will guide the College’s continued growth, ensuring a high-quality student experience and research with real-world impact. About you You will be a distinguished academic leader with a PhD or equivalent qualification in a discipline aligned to the College’s profile. You will bring a record of excellence in research, education and leadership across complex academic environments, as well as the credibility and vision to represent the College externally, shape its strategic direction, and foster an inclusive and high-performance culture.
