About the role . The Village Manager is a key management role for the designated village. The role is responsible for delivering positive customer experiences and service delivery to residents. The position spans all aspects of managing a retirement village, including operational, lifestyle and governance elements to ensure the village provides high-quality services in a safe and welcoming environment while operating within budget and meeting compliance requirements. Your Direct Reports will be: A small team spanning maintenance, gardening, administration, and others (such as Assistant Village Manager) as appropriate for the village, based on size and service offerings. Your Key Business Stakeholders will be • Operations teams across Sales & CRM, Customer Experience & Lifestyle, Veteran Services,Home Care and Residential Care Property & Building Services Legal • Finance & Procurement •Risk & Compliance and Work, Health & Safety People & Culture Key External Stakeholders Residents •Contractors engaged to provide the village with services Community groups and other sector organisations in the local and surrounding area RSL Sub Branch and RSL & Services Club and affiliated groups • Relevant industry bodies, such as DCM Institute & Retirement Living Council . You will Elevate lifestyle, wellbeing, social connection, and care for our community. To be successful in this role you have the following. Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operational management capacity, such as village, site or facility management, community management, or similar, and a demonstrated ability to implement change and manage a high-performing team. Diversity of thought and experience gained across retirement living, health care, aged care, or other customer-focused sectors (e.g. hospitality and retail). • Sound financial acumen with experience performing effectively against operational budgets. • Experience in mediation and dealing with complex issues and relationships. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and an ability to build meaningful relationships. • Demonstrated ability to make decisions which balance commercial outcomes with customer experience, applying consideration to mitigate areas of risk. • Experience in leading and motivating teams, managing performance and employee wellbeing, and delivering on accountabilities. • Willingness to perform some out of hours work (i.e. weekends or evenings), when required. Ideally you will also posses : Undergraduate qualification in Human Services, Finance, Business or related discipline •Understanding of Veterans’ experiences and needs, demonstrated passion for caring for others. Sound understanding and experience with project and change management.
