Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital At St John Of God Hospital, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Chef to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals for both patients and staff, ensuring that all dishes meet the standards of excellence and adhere to the Australian Dietary Guidelines. The Position Proficient in all aspects of Hospital cooking i.e. cyclic menus, vegetarian dishes, special diets and function catering. Prepare and cooks dishes as directed by the Executive Chef. Direct catering caregivers in the preparation of ingredients for dishes. Coordinate production and distribution of foodstuffs to various locations within the Hospital. Have a sound knowledge of and monitors kitchen staff in the principles of food, personal and kitchen hygiene. Be competent in the operation of all kitchen equipment and as directed demonstrates the operational procedure of kitchen equipment to others. Participate as part of a team and contribute to a high standard of staff morale. You will have recent experience as a Chef in a hospital, hospitality or similar setting with sound interpersonal and effective communication skills. Good written and oral communication skills will enable you to lead and motivate staff. These qualities will support your time management and prioritising your workload even under pressure in this position. To be successful in the role you will have completed a recognised Chef Trade Certificate and have sound knowledge of Safe Food Handling Process (HACCP and Food Safety).
