Applicants must hold a valid driver's licence, a Certificate III in Mechanical, and have at least 8 years' qualified experience as a Mechanic. Duties and responsibilities include: Vehicle Diagnostics and Repairs - Perform accurate fault finding on mechanical and auto-electrical systems. Carry out necessary repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, cooling, exhaust, and driveline components. Routine Servicing and Maintenance - Complete scheduled services, safety checks, and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines and workshop standards. Use of Tools and Equipment - Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and workshop machinery safely and effectively. Maintain equipment in good working order. Quality and Safety Compliance - Follow workshop procedures, occupational health and safety standards, and environmental regulations. Ensure all repairs meet quality assurance standards. Customer Communication -Clearly explain faults, repairs, and service requirements to customers in plain language. Provide accurate cost and time estimates when required. Record Keeping - Document all work performed, parts used, and test results. Maintain accurate job cards, service logs, and digital records as per company policy. Teamwork and Training - Work collaboratively with other technicians, apprentices, and staff. Assist in training and mentoring junior team members where required. Continuous Improvement - Stay updated with new automotive technologies, service bulletins, and training programs. Adapt to evolving vehicle systems including hybrid and electric vehicles.
