Grow your compliance career with hands-on training & support Fully-funded travel across vibrant regional communities Join a dynamic hospitality group with a vibrant, social team culture As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for managing deliverables on WHS, food safety, liquor & gaming compliance and AML/CTF in the hospitality sector. You will report to the Risk & Compliance Manager in a hands-on role to effectively implement and deliver the Waymark Hotels compliance program. Why should you join Waymark? The Role: Travel regularly to Waymark venues across QLD and NT, spending 50% of your time onsite to conduct venue-level WHS and compliance audits. Engage with stakeholders, from head chefs to hotel managers, fostering strong relationships that drive meaningful compliance outcomes. Support the incident review process to investigate incidents and contribute to developing recommendations that enhance safety and compliance across venues. Participate in AML/CTF, liquor, and gaming compliance checks. Help onboard new management with site inductions and compliance overviews. Deliver toolbox talks and short training sessions as needed. Monitor legislative updates and help refine documentation accordingly. Offer guidance & support to venue teams to help them interpret and apply policies in day-to-day operations. Work closely with the Risk & Compliance Manager on special projects, investigations, and reports. The Ideal Candidate: Strong foundational knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance frameworks. 2-3 years of experience in a compliance, safety, or audit role (venue-based or multi-site). Demonstrates strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the business. Possesses strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify gaps or non-compliance issues that may be overlooked. Skilled in managing time effectively, balancing multiple audits simultaneously, and ensuring timely completion and follow-up of all outstanding actions. The ability to work autonomously, travelling and working solo in regional areas. Professional, calm, and solutions oriented. Desirable Qualifications: Certificate IV in WHS (or working toward). RSA, RSG, Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain). Experience using SafetyCulture, Protecht, or similar compliance platforms. Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and analysis. Current driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly across regional QLD and NT.
