About the Business Popeys Diesel Service has over 15 years of experience rebuilding and servicing underground and surface machinery. Based in Mount Isa, their full-service workshop handles diesel, electrical, boilermaking, lineboring, and hydraulic jobs — all under one roof. This is a capable, practical team who take pride in doing great work and supporting their clients. As the business grows, they’re looking for a strong operator to lead the daily charge. About You You’re confident leading a busy workshop or operations environment. You know how to keep things moving, communicate clearly, and step in where needed. You’re calm under pressure, organised with your day, and enjoy supporting others to do their best work. You’ll work closely with the business owner while owning the day-to-day and driving improvement where you see it’s needed. Your New Role You’ll lead the operations of Popeys’ workshop and field services. That includes: Managing daily workflow and job scheduling Quoting, job costing, and supporting financial performance Leading and developing a capable operations team Maintaining compliance, safety, and service standards Improving systems and driving operational efficiency Representing the business with clients, suppliers, and partners You’ll also contribute to the broader management team across a group of trade-focused companies.
