About the work unit / facility The Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (ATODS) is part of the Mental Health Service Group at Townsville HHS. Located at 190 Palmerston Street, Vincent, the unit provides a range of specialist programs including Day Withdrawal, Opiate Substitution, Youth and Adult Case Management, Needle and Syringe Program, and Health Promotion. The team delivers outreach services across Townsville, supporting individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use. Competitive salary and benefits Salary between $4138.10 - $4431.10 per fortnight (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1). 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading. About your opportunity As a Clinical Nurse in the Withdrawal team, you will provide advanced nursing care and leadership in the delivery of alcohol and drug withdrawal services. You will support clients from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those engaged with Queensland Corrective Services or the Queensland Opiate Treatment Program. This role involves outreach across Townsville and contributes to clinical education, quality improvement, and culturally safe care. Requirements Registration with AHPRA and possession of a current practising certificate. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification. Evidence of vaccination against VPDs and TB screening as per Queensland Health policy. Possession of a Class C motor vehicle licence. Highly desirable: postgraduate qualifications in mental health or addiction nursing. Credentialed status or willingness to obtain with relevant professional bodies.
