Location: Taree & Forster, NSW Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Salary: 80,000 Per annum Jashan Lounge Indian Restaurant is seeking a full-time chef at Taree & Forster in NSW. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an Indian kitchen, have strong teamwork and communication skills and be able to prepare a variety of Indian cuisines to the high standard required by the Restaurant. Duties: Develop and execute a menu for Indian curries (veg/non-veg) Manage inventory, order stock and oversee the quality and freshness of stock. Cook food in various utensils, ovens or grills. Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Manage, instruct and train kitchen staff to help deliver the menu efficiently with attention to quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality. Order and maintain inventory of food supplies. Check the quality of food ingredients. Co-ordinate end-to-end kitchen operations during service and prep time Rostering and kitchen staff management Ensure a great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served Set up and monitor temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment. Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Maintain kitchen's cleanliness and hygiene as per Australian standards Skills and Experience Required Previous experience working in both Curry and Tandoori sections in an Indian kitchen is necessary.
