Good Shepherd Lutheran College is a co-educational, non-government school for ELC to Year 12 students. It has three campuses across Darwin: Howard Springs, Palmerston and Leanyer. Applications are sought for a suitably qualified and experienced Inclusive Education and Extension (Special Education) Teacher to join the Learning Support team at the Howard Springs Middle/Senior campus on a permanent, full-time basis.Our preferred candidate has previous experience working with Secondary students. Our Secondary Teachers promote and shape an atmosphere for students to fulfil their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological growth. They are responsible for organising and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success. This role provides specialist input to support and plan for students with diverse needs and abilities with key responsibilities in the development of Educational Access Plans (EAPs). As a community, we inspire and equip students to flourish as compassionate, highly capable people who enrich the lives of others, guided by Christian values. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching and enabling others to support diverse learning needs, inclusive of the extension of gifted and talented students and those with diagnosed disorders and disabilities. They have demonstrated experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team, developing, establishing, implementing, adjusting, adapting and monitoring learning and curriculum.
