Who we are looking for: KCB Australia Pty Ltd is continuing to grow its water dam and hydropower portfolio across Australia, and we’re looking to welcome a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be part of this exciting progress. In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of projects, including owner’s engineering roles; dam and hydropower rehabilitation; pumped hydro and new facility design; pump stations; and civil works for water resource developments. This role will give you the opportunity to: Work with diverse teams across our offices of multidiscipline engineers, designers and drafters from preliminary investigations and conceptual design through preliminary design, final design, and construction. Work collaboratively with our structural team in Australia and Canada. As the Australia team grows, act as a mentor to junior / intermediate staff. Write, compile, and review technical reports and fee proposals to clients Act as a technical resource within a multidisciplinary project team that fosters career development. Visit project sites, as required to gather information to contribute to engineering activities. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. RPEQ/CPEng registration. Extensive experience delivering mechanical engineering design from concept through to final design for hydropower, transportation, and/or mining/resources projects. Demonstrated leadership, project management, decision-making and coaching skills, especially your ability to train and mentor young professionals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Superior verbal and written communication skills including your experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondence. Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards. Analytical skills with one or more computational tool – examples include AFT Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, AutoPIPE, SolidWorks. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Mathcad or equivalent would be an asset but proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel would be expected.
