About Us: Windaroo Valley State High is a co-educational State High School located in the northern end of the Gold Coast, Logan Albert Beaudesert Education District and a member of the South Coast sporting district. About the Role: The Head of Department Science is an active participant in the school leadership and curriculum teams. The successful applicant will significantly contribute to a school culture that is focussed on continuous improvement to maximise each student's performance and potential.The Head of Department Science leads the following priorities within their portfolio of responsibilities; Implementation of the Science Curriculum Years 7-12 through quality pedagogy and teaching and learning practices as the key faculty instructional leader Professionally support teachers, especially early career teachers, and contribute to positive staff wellbeing Oversight of all QCAA requirements for all Science subjects Lead the faculty in the implementation of whole school literacy and numeracy initiatives Contribute to the academic learning culture and implement programs and processes in Science that support quality learning outcomes for all students. The successful applicant is required to work across a range of teams to monitor student performance, and support staff and students to improve learning outcomes in alignment with Education Queensland expectations.
