Role details The G2 Ward at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Facilitator to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The Clinical Nurse Facilitator (CNF) is primarily accountable for supporting, orientating, and mentoring postgraduate nurses and new staff and existing staff. CNFs practice autonomously, provide leadership, apply critical thinking skills, and have a strong focus on enacting teaching strategies. Clinical facilitation is delivered at the point of clinical care to support clinicians in achieving skill acquisition and practice development. The role's objectives are to support nurse advancement in line with the framework for lifelong learning, help staff members fulfill training obligations, and aid in their acquisition of the knowledge and abilities necessary to deliver complex medical and stroke care in line with the best evidence-based practices. About the Team The Medical G2 Unit is a 28-bed adult medical unit which has the capacity to expand to 30 beds if required. The unit provides multi-disciplinary assessment, management and care to general medical patients.
