Emergency Department | Instagram About the role: The Emergency Department (ED) Administration Officer provides and maintains a highly responsive and effective administrative support and customer service function to the 24-hour Emergency Department. The Emergency Department Administration Officer contributes to patient safety and patient flow by performing a skilled reception and customer service role to patients and visitors attending the Emergency Department, as well as providing an admission, discharge and administrative support function to assist nursing, medical and allied health staff in the department whilst maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, emotional resilience, attention to detail and a data quality focus. About you:  Exercise judgement and initiative to resolve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been established and procedures have not been defined, ensuring a satisfactory outcome is achieved.  Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications.  Proven ability to act as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment to deliver high quality services to clients.  Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles and how these apply to the role of the Emergency Department Administration Officer role.  Well-developed communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients and the general public.  Ability to respond effectively and immediately in emergency situations by following internal procedures and protocols.
