Many of these young people face complex challenges, and the program provides therapeutic and practical support to help them move toward independent living with confidence. The Opportunity Team Leader - Next Steps to provide supervision, leadership, and support to a multi-disciplinary team working with young people transitioning from care. You’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support that helps young people build independence, strengthen identity, and develop essential life skills. This role is fixed term till 30 June 2026 In this role, you’ll: Lead and mentor a team delivering therapeutic and practical support to young people aged 16–21. Oversee case planning, goal setting, and review processes. Build strong partnerships with DCP, health, education, and community services. Promote inclusive and culturally responsive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. Model trauma-informed and strengths-based practice across the team. Support evaluation and continuous improvement of the program. What you'll bring: Degree in Social Work or wording towards related experience. Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation . Experience supporting young people with complex needs. Leadership and team management experience. Strong interpersonal, consultative, and problem-solving skills. Current DHS Working with Children Check . Current driver’s licence . It's a bonus if you have: Qualifications in leadership/management. Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people. Experience with Penelope or similar client management systems. Background in providing trauma-responsive therapy.
