Job Description In this role you will oversee and undertake statutory planning processes for the Shire, ensuring delivery of professional, efficient and compliant planning functions. You will be instrumental in guiding and mentoring our team of Planning Officers. You will assess applications with high level of complexity, prepare reports, undertake compliance actions and appeals processes, and perform strategic planning functions. Desired Skills and Experience To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate: Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork High level of strategic planning experience, planning experience in statutory processes, structure plans and town planning scheme amendments in relation to urban and rural land use issues in a Local Government environment. Strong research and evaluation skills. Strong report writing skills. Comprehensive working knowledge of WA town planning legislation and other relevant legislation. Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, experience in review and development of policies and procedures, and undertaking compliance and appeal processes will be highly regarded.
