The Role: The Crop Manager plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of allocated cropping programs. Reporting to the Agricultural Manager, this role combines crop management, applied agronomy, and commercial responsibility. Key responsibilities include: Delivering agronomic support across nutrition, pest, disease, irrigation, and soil health Conducting regular field monitoring and implementing timely interventions Preparing and managing crop budgets Planning and coordinating and training staff to meet seasonal demands Engaging with growers and stakeholders locally Ensuring compliance with WHS, QA, and regulatory standards The Person: We are keen to speak with candidates who have: Experience in a field officer, agronomist, or similar role within intensive cropping systems. Strong understanding of vegetable production methods and agronomy. Proven experience managing budgets, labour, and operational costs. Experience in cool climate cropping (Tasmania) and vegetable production highly regarded. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for crop health, yield, and operational efficiency. You will be working closely with the field team and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
